We've got one and to be perfectly honest it's just a glorified electric light bulb with a reflector behind it. 3 heat settings...500,800, and 1300watts I think. Nothing fantastic and not cheap to run if you want more than a background glow....in fact the orange warm-ish light is about their only redeeming quality.

They are no more efficient at converting electricity into heat than any other electric heater.
