Megalomaniac Cinema Villains And Their Cats.
They're often presented sitting with a cat on their lap as they plan some villainy.
How do the film producers get the cat to stay where they want it?

However a nice lap under warm stage lighting combined with a bit of reward training would work with an older cat. Kittens not so much.... Can Just imagine it... I donl;t think Austin Powers counts because it's a spoof, but granted, I had forgotten that Don Corleone had a cat.
That makes ... er ... two villains, hardly a representative sample I would suggest.
I think there have been a number of 'supervillain"spoofs in sketch shows as well, the cat cliche has become a familiar part of pop culture. I wonder if it comes from the cat as 'Familiar' rather than just familiar. Or just because no supervillain will ever be as bad as the furry psycho on their lap.
