Going Into liquidation?

Have to leave a deposit on some furniture and want to know if there is any way I can check if the store is about to go into liquidation, didnt want to use a credit card. It is a good quality furniture store in South London.

The answer to your question has to be 'No'.

No company which is in financial difficulties is ever going to tell anyone about it. If they're hoping to avoid liquidation, then they won't want to deter customers by letting anyone know that there might be troubles ahead.

If they actually know that they're definitely about to go into liquidation, then they'll be guilty of the criminal offence of 'trading while insolvent' so they'll be even more determined to ensure that nobody knows of their problems!

Life, unfortunately, is full of risks and it looks as if you might have to take one here.

Yes, it would be safer, as long as the amount is over �100.
