Hi folks, can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaner (one that you hire or just a simple spray shampoo etc)?  It needs to be pet friendly and not leave my carpet soaking wet, as it's for the lounge.  I did see one that you could hire from B&Q, has anyone tried it?.  Thanks x

i've tried the Rug Doctor thing you can hire from Johnsons the dry cleaners and it was ok. heavy to carry if you live up stairs or anything, but seemed to do a decent job. carpet was left damp (you can't avoid a bit of dampness if you're washing the thing), but far from soaking.

hi, ye i hired one from safeway... think it was the rug doctor aswell. it did a good job.. animal hairs and mud etc.

I've just bought the Agility deep cleaner. It was recommended in the Times. I brought it from Littlewoods on line, it cost 220 but as it was my first purchase from Littlewoods I got 15 off. It is very easy to use and I'm really pleased with the results. It does leave the carpet wet, but not soaking. I have quite deep pile carpets and they took approx 3 -4 hours to dry. I would definately recommend it.
