There's about a dozen of us, some on email, some not [my folks are 90+ but want to join in]. We're not living anywhere near each other [but all in the UK].

Is there a way of running a Secret Santa, that excel or word could do as a mailmerge list? I could print straight into an envelope, so no-one knows who's buying for who? Which I'll post .

We'll sort the logistics of pressy dishing quite easily. A will be seeing B, B lives near enough to D etc ... makes a change!

Have an addressed envelope for each person.

Split the list into 2 - odds and evens

Seal the names into unaddressed envelopes, but keep them in the same odd and even group.

Pick one odd unaddressed and one even addressed, then repeat for the other piles. This means that nobody should get their own name.

Thanks Tuvok, looks like the quickest way to do it. If I label all the envelopes addressed & unaddressed 1-12, then I can ensure I don't get a match. Thx again!
