Sorry, didn't seem to be an obvious place for this. My daughter starts going swimming with school this week and has to wear a swimming hat - what's the best way to get her bum-length hair inside it (she is going to have to do it herself)? She usually just has it in an ordinary plait for school.
Oh Sher....had the same problem.....bum length thick hair. In the end it was asking a teacher or assistant to help her on no hat...which wasn't allowed. I pony tailed it and they twizzled it inside but she hated it. Good luck.
Just asked the daughter,Sherr. She says she always needed help because the hats were so tight. She would twirl the pony tail into a loose bun. Someone then held the bun through the hat and she pulled it down. I recall buying the largest but it was a struggle. She must have looked like an alien. :-) x
I have got her a large hat - will have to experiment tomorrow. Maybe the pink googles she insisted upon might help keep the hat in place, it's going to be a stressful morning!
Are they allowed goggles? I'm aware all schools have different 'rules' but we were given a loooooooooong letter regarding the dangers of swimming goggles when Mini Boo started swimming with the school. I can't remember what those dangers were now, but suffice to say I think a child would have been hung drawn and quartered had a pair appeared during their lessons!
My daughter's hair was waist length and her school insisted on swimming caps as well. I used to put in into a pony tail and "screw" it round my finger and pinned the resultant bun into place. The pins didn't come through the cap, but her hair did get wet
Sorry, missed the new answers (must have been doing something). Don't know if they are allowed or not, but she wanted some and they were £2 (so she got some). Her hair is really heavy, will try some bun things tomorrow (have hair clip things, not fancy ones, just old fashioned things). If in doubt, send her any old way and hope the school sorts her out :)
