When I play a dvd disc on my player the picture sometimes freezes and then jerks a few times before freezing again. Is it somethihg i'm not doing properly or do I need a new player? x

your not doing anything wrong, I believe the problem lies in either the disc being too scratched or the lens on the dvd player being broken!

give the dvd a wipe over with a damp cloth

Use a lens cleaner solution to clean the DVD player, and a soft cloth on the disc
