is it possible to buy a postal order in euros? I need to send one to germany. I've looked on royalmail web, but can't find anything. x

No it isn't - and certainly not at the Post Office.

They offer a Moneygram service (similar to Western Union) whereby the recipient can pick up cash at an agent (not necessarily or even normally a Post Office) in the destination country. Quite expensive

Most banks will sell you a cheque in euros - also quite expensive.

Cheapest way (if the destination country allows it) is cash by International Recorded Delivery. Even if they don't you can still do it but are not covered if it gets lost.
