Bloomin heck Red your on the ball!!! Hi btw :o)

Good suggestions! Thought about the mini break and it was already up there on the possiblity board but wanted to hear if anyone had other ideas, good call tho!

Cheers for your input :o)
I took my (now ex) b/f to Paris for his 30th birthday and went to the Moulin Rouge for a meal/show on the day itself. I can recommend going up the Eiffel Tower at night and a trip to the Sacre Coeur.

Mine is next year wing and because I didn't have an 18th or 21st birthday party I did think about hiring a hall and having a big party. However, lately I've started to think that with the money you'd spend hiring the hall, food, etc etc...I may as well do one of those 5 day trips to New York or something so am thinking along those lines instead now.

Thanx MK66
I suggested Paris as I was meant to go a few years back but couldn't due to health complications but thing is it doesn't feel right just me and hubby going as I would like to celebrate this with my 2 girls and Mum & Step Dad so could end up being quite pricey. Maybe I should tot it up just for the 2 of us just to see how much it would be?

Oh blooming heck I don't know what to do!!! I thought about a party but think we are running out of time as Birthday is end of March.
Starting to panic that I should have been better prepared than this!!!
wingnut, can you not all go away somewhere together? See if you could rent somewhere? That way you'll all be together.

Hi Beads! :o)

Ooooo New York!
Now hadn't thought of that!! and I am liking the idea! Maybe could have a special meal with the kids and Mum & step Dad when we get back??!!

I too didn't do anything special for my 18th or 21st, infact spent 21st moving into a house that we had to move out of almost a year to the day later so wanted to do something special for my 30th.

New York is moving towards the top slot!! :o)
Hiya wingnut - it is a bit spesh isn't it. That's why I've started to think about it for mine too...You could definitely have a lovely family meal upon your return and these breaks are pretty short so the kids won't even know you're gone and it will be a bit exciting for them too as they'll be staying with nan and grandad!.... let us know the outcome :)

Hi ~Wingnut~ , nice to see you again , can't add anything to the great ideas already posted hun :-) xxxxx
Oh yes, I can recommend New York too! First time I went through my job and stayed at the Grand Hyatt (very posh!) and had a helicopter trip over Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty - that was something else! Second time I went I caught a cold at the airport, flight was delayed and I ended up with flu (and deaf) by the time I got to NY where the temperature was minus numbers! Won't forget that trip in a hurry either!!
P.S. If you wanted a party, I'm brilliant at organising them (even at short notice)!
Whatever you choose to do, I hope you have a great time!

Hi BM, sorry didn't mean to miss you out then! Nice to see you again too, hope your keeping well :o)

Thank you all for your great ideas and input and I must admit I have been thinking about seeing Ken Dodd live Red as I hear he is very good (and I grew up with him too, watching him on telly I mean lol)
New York sounds a wonderful suggestion doesn't it , that's the next place I wish to go . My sister and her hubby are going there in April as he was awarded the trip for winning the annual award at his job .
