I have been trying so hard to think of something different or special to do for my daughters 21st, however i am quickly running out of time now. She is a single mum (has 2 yr old son) struggles financially (due to partner leaving her with lots of debt to sort out). she has quite a mundane life but brings her son up very well, he means the world to her. I thought it would be nice to make her birthday special but really dont know what to do. Any ideas would be appeciated. Also any ideas for a present from her little boy?thank you

Can you look after her little boy for a day? If so, how about treating her to a day's pampering at a health spa, with a friend (if you can afford it, of course. Then throw her a small surprise party at the end of the day when she collects her little one.

A nice piece of jewellery from her son (a silver locket with a picture of him, perhaps). Something she can keep for ever.

Why not go to the zoo... that way you can all go, you can even arrange for a cake in the cafe they have.
You can take her up in a hotair balloon and her son can go too. You can take a picnic up.
Take her up in a helicoptor.
In asda they sell mugs that you paint and can put a message in maybe he can do her one of them.
What does she love... what makes her feel good....
What did she love when she was a kid?
Good luck
I don't know what your budget is, but remembering when my son was 2, I wanted my wife to have a break from children for the day. I arranged for someone to care for him and I took her on a day-trip on the Orient Express.

There are late break rates available and the train departs from Victoria Station. There are alternative trips from other locations.

If this doesn't appeal, perhaps a 'pamper day.' I gave my wife a day at the Thalgo spa and I once gave her day at the spa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London. I'm sure there are similar wherever you live.

Best of luck

hi, i have a 2 year ols son and the best presents he gives are the ones he has made himself. for my birthday my partner brought a framed piece of canvas which are a few pounds and got my son to paint it. it is up on thje wall in my bedroom and i love it. as for a present for your daughter- me and my mom have a good bond and she is always there for me and my kids. on my 21st, my sister had my lads for a day we went shopping just for a nose about, went for a meal then went to have our hair done, we then all met up on the evening for a drink and a bite to eat with the kids and other family members. it was special to me because me and my mom spent quality time together, and i had a break from it all. plus spent the evening celebrating with my kids and partner.
