Thank you for your answer on my previous post regarding hair colouring. If I use a 9% peroxide mixed with the colour on my friends dark blonde hair, will it still turn out the same colour as it has been doing? Will I have to leave it on longer? And if I continue to use 12% what will happen?

You're more than welcome hun. No, using 9% won't affect the colour at all, it'll turn out just the same. You'll probably find that you need to leave it on for slightly longer though as 12% develops faster, the stronger the product the quicker it penetrates. If you check the hair after the normal amount of time you'll be able to see whether or not it has taken, if it needs more time then check it every few minutes there after. If you continue to use 12% then your friend will find that her hair becomes dry, dull and frizzy, making her hair unmanagable, hard to maintain and causing the colour to become brassy. The darker the hair the more it can handle, so 12% doesn't prove to be much of a problem for brunettes, however fair hair isn't quite as sturdy, so 9% will prove to be far kinder in the long run, to both the condition of the hair and the colour.

Thanks again! So (with 12%) will it become dry and frizzy even by just touching the very roots?
