Dallas same as Desperate Housewives?

Hi. I liked this series of Dallas - though I feel the younger cast are a bit wishy washy.

It is so similar on the layout to Desperate Housewives, including many cast members. Just wondering if it's the same producers / makers?

I dont remember the last Dallas being so twisty and fast paced. I love the ending to this series.

I just finished watching the last in this series .Real "cliff " hanger.Pardon the pun . I would never have guessed Rebecca was Cliff Barnes daughter .No wonder she got the body cleared away asap.
I was addicted the first time round .It's sooo cheesy but I loved it :)
JR is still as devious as ever .He could wriggle out of the eye of a needle !
