This is for those of you who think I want to ban the sale of all fireworks. No, I don't, but what I would like to see happen is for fireworks to be sold for public official displays only and not to member of the public. You may think that where you live it isn't a problem but for a lot of people it is. Sainsburys took a stand and banned the sale of fireworks, I bet Asda wished they had done the same. For those of you who are not affected by fireworks going off day and night in the 3 weeks leading up to Nov 5th, you are lucky, but give a thought please to those who are affected including our emergency services.

i don't go out of an evening nowadays, but if did i would not like the fireworks going off willy nilly. Organised firework displays only.
That's precisely what I object to. Official displays are impersonal and likely on the wrong date. Family get-togethers on Nov 5th is tradition and more personal/fun.

If you want a law banning it except on certain dates, try for that, but don't impose a blanket ban over everyone.
OG the "except on certain dates" law would be unenforceable.
I'm with you Barsel 100%. I want a ban on selling them to the public and organised displays only. Fireworks have got way out of hand now with the thug element spoiling it for everyone, but sadly, despite the respective Governments being petitioned year after year, they just do NOTHING ! It will take a major disaster before they will act and that to my mind, is disgusting ..

That too is my last word on the subject (until next year) !
I’m with OG 100%. Harsher penalties for shopkeepers that sell to underage children; harsher penalties for yobs.
Oh sorry, one last word - I've heard on the grapevine from somebody who works at Asda that they are considering not selling them next year now - YAY !

Tasers, high pressure hoses and batons deployed against organised knobs and straight to correction camps after court appearances.

Repeat until order is restored.
