Has there ever been at any time a British daily newspaper published on Xmas day?- when was the last time?
Also , i assume the staff get very little time off and work to incredibly short deadlines as they probably have to work on Xmas day in evening to get paper ready for Boxing Day?
A bit easier in these computerized days but how did they manage to get copy out on pre -computer days?

I'm pretty sure the Times published on Dec 25 for a few years, maybe 10 years ago orless. But I expect it proved a waste of time and money; who goes out and buys a paper then? These days if you really want to know the news, turn on a telly or a PC.

Yes, the staff work Dec 25 for the next day's paper (if it's a morning paper) - though not all of them publish; there was no Guardian yesterday, for instance. Before computers they just had more people working - compositors and linotype operators and proofreaders and so on. These days journalists do all that.
I've been through a binder of Times newspapers and I was surprised to see a 25 Dec edition. Those were 19century newspapers.
