I enjoy Christmas except for the rituals that need to be adhered to and cannot be changed!
Such as
The food you cannot touch on the 24th but will be going in the bin on the 28th.
You tell your wife to say to her parents not to buy me a gift which they ignore and buy me a picture I hate or ornament that goes to charity.
I don't really like presents but we have to take north to open on Christmas day to then bring south again.
Bah humbug.....!

I like the day when it gets here - it's the increasingly stressful lead-up that I can't abide!

The present Mrs Hughes and I have had two serious rows in the last week caused by Christmas - more than we usually have in twelve months!

We could of been in Edinburgh on Sunday or Monday but because there is so much to do we will be turning up on Christmas eve.
Have fun, Gav ;o)
Remind me to tell you about my present game which we've played for the last twenty odd Christmases, Gav......

It involves two packs of cards.....and about twenty five little presents all gaily wrapped........you'll love it.......☺

Happy Christmas!....Gx
I envy you Gav, you sound the life and soul of Christmas!
//I don't really like presents but we have to take north to open on Christmas day to then bring south again.//

We also used to take the presents to my mum's house to open on xmas day and then bring back home . We stopped it in the last few years

So we phone to say we would be arriving at midday today to be told there's nothing to eat! So we ate at Morrisons to come home to find the fridge groaning!!

Ah, a kindred spirit!
Come out to the shrubbery, Baldric, Gness and I will cheer you up.
Done all of the pressie deliveries, so should be ok until Boxing day ( visit outlaws ).

A groaning fridge, Gav !

gness, how do you play the card / pressie game ?.

Groaning and saying feck! I think it has been watching father Ted as it keeps shouting 'DRINK!!'

Best offer I've had all week Sibs.

trt, can't speak for Gav, but I'm not miserable about Xmas, just all the hype that goes with it, I'm rarely found without a smile, especially with offers like the one @ 17:45, thanks girls, xx
Trouble is some families seem to put the pressure on ,rather than just relaxing into it and keeping it simple. Folk then get fraught and can't wait for it to end.

We take it steady and all doors are open if you want to visit no pressure and choices are respected.

We always manage at least one day all together in the same place and have a great time.
Better give it a glass or two the, Gav.
