So the Japanese sent a probe to Venus.

They spent £190m on the Ataksuki programme.

The probe didn't have enough power to get there ... LOL !

Still, apparently it can wait until Venus comes around again ... in 6 years time ...

... LOL, LOL, LOL !!!

How much power does it need?

Once it's going in the right direction, it just keeps drifting, doesn't it?

Yes, ha ha.

(except they didn't really, of course)
Not like the masterful British probe Beagle eh?

Or the US one that went sailing past Mars after an Imperial/Metric screwup

Space probes are difficult things - its actually pretty impressive that when it failed orbital insertion due to a fuel pressure drop it placed itself into a "safe mode" from which it could be recovered!

Are you listening Beagle team.

That's not technology I would call pathetic
JJ If it hasn't got enough power to get to venus then it won't get there, It won't just 'drift' , it will go into an orbit of some sort but nowhere near venus..ever, if you want to know why then ask.

Yeah, try telling that to my wife.
"safe mode"? While they are at it, run malwarebytes. That will sort it out.
