  We have created elements not occuring in nature. But can we create an atom in a lab

I wouldn't say we've "created" elements not occuring in nature, maybe we've just changed its compositiion to something else. Matter can only be converted from one form into another. It can never be created. eg. I can never get rid of my biology book no matter what I do, burn it and it comes back as ash. :p

 

But that's the belief now, I always believe science can accomplish miracles, perhaps in time. :)

We've created molecules that don't appear in nature.  All the elements, I thought, do appear in nature but not necessarily purely.

I always thought that the saying'Matter can neither be created or destroyed' was the answer to all such questions, although i have no eveidence of this.
