what happens at the boundaries between plates when they slide past each other,push against each other and move away from each other Thanks

Either: one slips under the other and goes down into the earth's crust where it eventually melts and gets recycled
Or: they move apart and let lava erupt through the gap - which eventually solidifies and creates new land.
