If I had a broken aluminium car I would repair it, what do you mean?
Question Author
tools that are used on normal car panels should not be used on aluminium as it can contaminate it, as aluminium doesn't rust!
and how will they contaminate it.
Question Author
if tiny piece of steel from a tool that has been used to repair a car then gets used on an aluminium it could in time rust where it has been repaired.
and who told you that load of crap, it would not be cost effective to have a complete set of tools just for aluminium cars,as there are not that many about, the same tools are used for all cars in 99.9% of garages, they would just be cleaned.

I'm not sure if I saw something like this on American Hotrod the other day - they made a car completely out of aluminium (well the body anyway). Wasn't paying a massive amount of attention, but apparently there can be some chemical reaction between steel fasteners and the aluminium bodywork, so they just coat the fastners in a certain grease (bit like copper grease on wheel nuts to stop them seizing).

Aluminium body repairs are a bit more specialised (due to skill involved in welding, etc), but there are no specific rules
