Really? Thanks

What ON EARTH does that have to do with pulleys and gears?
Hmm. The Googler strikes again

The acronym PGGT is the fifth entry when I type "PGGT" into Google. A bit of reading of the webpage used would have shown that the PGGT they were discussing was about a gamma ray detector and nothing at all to do with gears and pulleys.

It seems the true answer is that it stands for "Power Grip GT" a trademarked manufacturing process for specialist rubbers used for pulley and gears.
On looking further, it seems that PGGT is a trademark is being used to describe a lot of stuff manufactured including pulleys and belts made by by Gates Rubber Corporation.

They don't only make stuff out of rubber, but they've continued to use this PGGT label for a lot of the stuff they make pulleys etc from.
