You in the UK will get to experience a total lunar eclipse this Saturday. Here in the US I'll be watching at moonrise. I am excitedly waiting to see a "ruddy moon."

Amazingly, the forecast is very good - clear skies over the UK, apart from the far west.
i can't wait!! i love all this kind of stuff. i always stay up to watch meteor showers and everything. never seen a lunar eclipse before so this will be great. the sky is crystal clear here in farnborough......yippee!! :-)
I'm amazed that you've never seen a lunar eclipse before munchi.

Having said that they are beautiful sights, i'm ready with my camera i just pray it stays clear, so far so good moon is still high in the sky.
Wow, it's absolutely amazing!! The skies where I am (Dorset) are crystal clear - the stars are like white diamonds jewels hanging in a dark navy sky. Hard to imagine it rained and hailed most of the day. ....and now the moon is a small crescent with the rest clearly outlined.....it's turning red. If only I had my tripod....photos are useless without it.

Would be great to see any other pics. This is better than the last lunar eclipse. Awesome, just a tiny frament remaining, but seeing the whole outline of the moon plainly.
that was just soooooo awesome!!!!!!!
kind of eerie it looked like a snooker ball at one point just hanging there! and it is really pretty too
i am now a happy munchiepea :-D x
