Shamrock Irish Moss Peat

I am having trouble locating a garden centre that stocks this - is there any reason? Someone said it could be because there is a shortage of peat bogs in Ireland? Or are they taking the p*ss?

I am in Norfolk.

Probably because the government have given the industry a target of 90% peat free by 2010. You can still get it but not sure where. Try some smaller garden centres or just use an alternative depending on what you want it for.

Can't use an alternative, I want it to put in the tank for my Giant African Land Snails!

Many garden centres will stock Westland's Irish Moss Peat. I can't see there being any difference there.

Peat is acidic - about ph5-5.5

Have managed to locate a pet shop with a smalll gadening section that has some in stock so I have bought a couple of sacks which will last me at least a couple of years.
