if you could use the two atoms that creatid the big bang and used them saftly and smash them against each othre what would happen

atoms did not exist at the time of the big bang. They where formed shortly after.

I think you may be confused because it's often said that collision experiments like the ones at CERN take us back to x millionths of a second after the big bang.


This is just the best way we have of recreating those conditions. It's not how it actually happened.


At the moment CERN is about to smash subatomic particle together at 1150 Tev that's only about the energy of a thousand mosquitos but in a point of space a million million times smaller than a mosquito.


They hope this will help us understand how matter works.
