How can I type H2O the proper way??? in a word document - I cannot seem to find a list of chemical symbols anywhere - Thanks

I dont under stand. Do you mean H<sub>2<sub>O?

Thanks Hamish - but I do not understand your answer, sorry I do not know what The sub bit is. I am trying to type H (small 2 slightly below the H) O  By most peoples standard on this site my computer knowledge is limited to using it as a modern pen and paper - so an idiots guide to which key to press would be more appropriate for me!! :-) Ta

Once again thanks Hamish  - I applied the brain cells a bit more and have found away via a right click....fonts and spotted a subscript option - off for a coffee now to recover.
You can do a subscript in Word. This will give the small 2 after the H. Can't remember where to find it. I'll let you know when I remember.

type H2O.
highlight the 2
goto format -> font
click subscript tick box
OK

the short cut in word is [ctrl] and = together, at least on mine it is. It will also be in the pull downs.
