why is the big end bearing always 3-5 times the size of the small end when they both carry the same load?

The big end bearings has to fit around the crankshaft which is bigger than the gugeon (sp) pin that the small end bearings have to fit around.
plus the big ends do a full rotation as opposed to a litte end wiggle lol
If the big end diameter was the same as the small end the crankshaft would'nt be able to handle the torque of the motor.
It would make it interesting though, BRIGHT SPARK lol.
It certainly would tony....if you have 570 horses on tap :-)
