why, when we have tiny devices in our pockets that are capable of great footage, can we not make cctv that produces clear images?
they are almost always, fuzzy, pixelated, incabale of close up, weirdly coloured, juddery etc etc

the one occasion when clarity is paramount, and with all the technology we have - why can't we do it?

The small device in your pocket may be ok at 10 to 30ft but multiply that up to 100yds or more and it's no good.

Part of the reason is cost. If you want HD court quality cctv then your talking about considerable outlay to upgrade all the equipment.
Because of the considerable cost to organisations, company's etc to install and maintain such equipment. We have a fairly good system at our premises but without a pan, tilt and zoom or HD capacity it really is by chance that you can make CCTV evidence concrete.
