Hi, would like to know if anyone has a link to any legislation, regulations or guidelines regarding public car parks or car parks provided as part of a retail outlet. In particular the requirements of curbs and the height of pillars.
Thanks.

you had your answers here
If you require more specific replies please state what you wounded like to see written here in your OP
You hit the bollard. You were at fault. You must pay for it yourself. Would you be blaming the child you hit were it to have been a child? You only scrapped your car as you 'took off' (car? Sounds like an aircraft to me)

you knew the bollard when you drove in - forgot it was there and drove into it as you drove out of the car-parking space, instead of reversing out of the space. Carparks very often have small kerbs, stones or bollards separating the spaces - that's why in almost all supermarket or retail carparks i can think of, you drive in and reverse out (or the other way round). Completely your fault that your scraped your car, no amount of legislation or complaint will change that.

On your other post you said that the carpark was quiet so you "were aware that no small children" around - i'd prefer in future if you would make sure rather than assuming, and maybe that way you could avoid driving into bollards.

Thanks everyone. Just thought I'd start a new post to ask specifically for any info or links to facts, rather than asking for advice. Cheers.
there are no specific links to car park layout legislation - I looked for 30 minutes - that's why you didn't get any in your first or 2nd questions

I also searched for bollard legislation, there is nothing I could find
Which is why I referred you to Google above (GIYF = google is your friend)
