Ford Mondeo ABS, traction control ights

can anyone help please i have a ford Mondeo 24v V6 m reg, when its wet/damp the dashboard lights come on and stay on is this right?

in short no. the sensors for both the abs and traction control both read a signal relating to the speed of the drive shafts. sudden increase in speed causes the traction control to throttle back the engine, sudden decrease alerts the abs to take action in case the wheels lock under braking. in the wet, mine flash breifly under hard acceleration or if one wheel hits a slippery patch of road. there is a lot of power going through the front wheels, i find there is a direct connection to the time the light stays on, fuel consumption, and tyre wear....
