I've turned it around and slightly moved it but don't feel safe trying to drive out of the avenue, i can hear more traffic across the fields on the M61 but I can't make it that far!!!

over 6inches sitting on the roof!
I'm tempted, but have promised to be a good boy otherwise Santa might not come this year.
:-D
I think my oh may have to attempt to get the train into work rather than drive today. We also have 5-6 inches of snow on the ground and I don't think our little car would cope with it, it would be ok if he could reach the main roads, but we live in a rural area and all roads in the village are currently untreated.

I don;t think there will be many trains, the colne/balckpool south line is closed I think
I just checked the train times and Kirkham to Blackpool North trains are all running on time. He will have to walk from there to Cleveleys where he works though.

I've checked them and the online timetable says no disruptions but i don't believe them!
Morning Dotty and all

Thats a lot of snow. We have only had a light dusting here but it has frozen overnight which made it bad to get to work this morning.
I think they have now forecast a 99% chance of a white christmas havnt they ?

Take care everyone xx

I've just let next doors cat in, they must have left him out all night!
He is attempting to clear the snow off the car and drive into work, one of our neighbours also tried the same with their car but have given up. lol
He works in retail jewellery so he has to go in today! The last Saturday before Christmas is generally very busy as i'm sure you know dot. :)

It is Daffy! We were hoping for a really busy day, but it isn't going to happen! Most of St Annes customers are elderley and they won't venture out
Good luck to all that have snow and travel.

Not a single flake of it here, cars a bit icy but that's currently being melted off it by the neighbours boiler flue so should be clear by the time I leave for work.
I know St Annes well dot, my oh's parents and son live there, my mum used to live there as did my eldest daughter (she is in Lytham now).

I've just phoned work and my manager seemed abit miffed that i hadn't set off for work yet! I live 28 miles away and she lives 1.5 miles away! I'm going to have to try to get the car through to the main road I think : (
Plenty of the white stuff here in Dorset and heavy snow predicted for today. I ordered my Christmas 3-bird roast and an Xmas pud. online this year so I'll have to go out and buy a turkey as back up. My hiking boots are pretty good in snow and I'll take the sledge for coming back down the hill. Wheeeeee! Take care all those of you who have to drive. I used to live in Alaska and we used to keep a bag of kitty litter in the car to put under the wheels iof we got stuck; also if your wheels are spinning try moving off in 2nd gear.
Morning all, a tiny tiddly bit here at the moment, but we had a clear night so I am sure that it's solid ice. I went shopping last night, so hope I don't need to go out.

Dotty, well done for taking in the cat - I can't understand people who think that a cat doesn't need to be able to get indoors overnight. They are smaller than we are, and equally warm-blooded - they would freeze quicker than we would!
This is Bristol and although we have been lucky so far we now have about an inch out there. Not much but enough to disrupt, especially if you are a bit old, like me. Well, a lot old really. This will put the kibosh on my Christmas if it keeps up, and many more old people I suspect. Plenty of food and drink in the house, so no worries there, just if I want to go anywhere, which I do on Christmas and Boxing day.
Oh has arrived safely at work. Apparently the roads have been cleared and gritted properly and his journey took no longer than usual. The drive out of the village was treacherous though as they have only cleared the main roads and motorways.
Unfortunately...we have to go to a funeral on Wednesday, the crematorium is in quite a rural location, I hope it can go ahead...

I'm in negotiations with the Preston store to see if I can work there today, their supervisor was stuck in St Annes at his GF's last night and so it makes sense!!
That does seem like an ideal solution dot.

I'm going back to bed now that I know Bill made it to work safely.

Good luck with your negotiations dot :)
