For example I have 6 to do of which one is Mail Winner and the next Valise Rasp. If I knew how they worked I might be able to do the rest. Many thanks.

They are a phrase or saying hidden in a picture or word clue. For example: Valise is a CASE and a rasp is a FILE, so they phrase could be CASE FILE.
First one - First past the post?

Couldn't think of a way to explain it!
Mail Winner - First past the post?
Mail Winner = First Post ?

Thanks you two . But squarebear has a 2 word answer for a 2 word clue and ljdksa word count doesn't match. Does it matter? I see how you are both getting the answers.
The word count doesn't matter. For example: CmHaInA could be "Made In China".
Sorry I meant CmHaIdNeA
There's no correlation between the amount of words in the clue and the answer, you just need to find the saying from the clue

OK thanks everyone. Will give the rest a go.
If you get stuck, post them on here and we will try to help.

Thanks, squarebear, I think I have given you the easiest so far.the others are Photo Graph and Tenetre Polo and Nede I am baffled!
but, of course, what you have failed to mention is that these all come from the latest QFC quiz, which was only published on 15 Feb (yes, this week) and the closing date isn't until 21 April.
Irrelevant. How does knowing that help solve the puzzles?
It doesn't help but the setter works hard on this quiz, it costs more than the usual quiz and I for one object to people ruining it for everyone else.

Not quite sure how asking how to do dingbats ruins the quiz for everyone, I am trying to learn. I have paid my fee too and after all no one is forcing you to use this site and you don't have to look at the answers to the questions.
I agree ndofu. Especially as you are new to dingbats I can't see any problem with you asking how they work. I admit I get slightly irritated with people posting a long list of quiz questions early on in a quiz rather than trying them theselves for a while and then posting the ones they are stuck on but after all this is an answer site.

Thanks, Calibax.. I've seen dingbats before and wondered how they worked. Just thought I would ask this time............ For the record I have already completed most of 15 of the sections but still have 5 to go plus most of the pictures - so I am not just asking for a long list of answers!
No problems with asking how something works - after all life is all about learning. However, you had no need to list the dingbats form the QFC quiz - a simple "how do dingbats work" would have sufficed. I realise you have paid your fee, so the charity will not benefit if you have 130 answers or 99, the only person to benefit will be........? (I'm sure you can work that one out). I'm still intrigued as to how you can justify asking for answers only 3 days after a quiz has been published - if you done so many of the questions already, you still have almost 2 months to concentrate on your missing answers.

Asking for answers on a Q&P site does put the answers in the public domain and does ruin a quiz because it gives everyone the answers (thereby turning a quiz into a lottery). However, if you do the hard work yourself (including using the internet to search), you and you alone get the answers and it's amazing how much you can learn without being spoonfed the answers. Oh, and it would have been good to be honest and put the quiz name at the top of the thread.
She is simply asking how they work, with a couple of examples. Read OP.
The examples are unnecessary. The question would have been sufficient. And as I said before, stating the name of the quiz would have been more honest. A sceptic would say the heading was a smokescreen to get answers to a difficult quiz without stating the name of the quiz.
