many thanks quinie for such a quick reply...haven't heard of either of them and I have been seaching through all the usual sites. Must try the first one on the great granddaughter!
Hi,Harrowden, I found the first one in "The Little Puffin...Nursery songs and rhymes" a book I' ve had for forty years. The second one I found on a marvellous site which will help you with more answers. Google "list of nursery rhymes" then click on "Nursery Rhymes lyrics, origins and history". There you'll find a list of rhymes-scroll to the bottom of that list then click on "Lost Lyrics of children's nursery rhymes" and you'll get another long list- that's where I found the second one. Sorry I've never learned to cut and paste but I hope this will help.. Hope your great-granddaughter enjoys the rhyme- do young parents still play "this little piggy"etc?

Fantastic site...I had been to the index of rhymes but did not go as far as the Lost lyrics ...a real treasure trove. Thanks again. I think grandparents still keep some of the good old standards alive!
