Please can somebody explain to me why the above quiz, which I submitted, with a closing date of 14th January 2011(date checked on fundraising quizzes home paqge) has already been returned to me as marked, with a note saying I wasn't lucky in the draw this time. There may be ABers who were proposing to post their entry after Christmas, and it looks to me as if its already too late! What is going on?

I cannot explain and only hear of this happening rarely, but as a quizzer it sticks in my craw and is not right,is your sheet marked? are they all correct? If so you have not been through a proper draw of all correct entries as many more could come in yet.
I've had that with another bowling club one but not that one when I queried it I never did get a reply but its one I havent done since

When it came back in the post, I ripped it up in annoyance, and vowed never to enter one of their quizzes again, but its not worth getting upset about. I just feel sorry for anyone intending to enter after Christmas, and wonder if that has happened to any other quizzes I, or anyone else has entered, or whether this fault could be redressed.I do tend to submit entries relatively early, because I don't trust the PO to get entries in on time, especially with the snow we,ve had recently, and the amount of Christmas post.
You are so right Poodledoo, if quizzes are not run fairly and above board then people will not enter so it is their loss in the end, as there are so many others to choose from.
Could it be that the organiser has already received a completely correct entry (or more) and yours had a mistake or two? The draw consisting of the correct ones only can still take place after the closing date. Badly worded perhaps, but you were 'unlucky' to miss the draw because unluckily you didn't have all the right answers. I'm just saying...!
I agree with Captain Spod. It is the only feasible answer but perhaps should have been explained better.
Why don't you review your answers and submit another entry? Or are you fed up with this happening to you and don't want to pay out again?
I agree that may be a possibility which is why I asked if the returned entry was all correct? However still, should be returned after closing date as sends out mixed messages.
This is all very strange, as this morning I received my answer sheet back for Lower Holker Bowling club(this quiz closed 18 dec) I had put money in for a follow-on and the quiz I have been sent is the Dalton Ladies Bowling Club one (closing Jan14).
I notice they are both the same setter and return address so maybe poodledoo sheet had got put in the incorrect pile, this seems to be the only logical explanation I can think off.
Know this is not much help be maybe just a slip up on setters part.
The other thing is, now you know all the answers and could quite easily put them on the net for others to "copy"! OR send for another one fill in the blanks!
Curiouser and curiouser!!

I did get all the answers correct, but as I've ripped up the answers, I can't give them to you! Neither can I resubmit them, and besides, why should I pay for another lot of postage. I'm disgusted, and don't want anything more to do with their quiz, nor the Lower Holker one either! It all sounds one great big muddle when they can't conduct a proper fair draw. There are plenty more that can!
