I needed help with a crossword, so I clicked on "quizzes and puzzles" to get to that section. I typed in the key words at the top and clicked on "search", but ... I got lots of answers from all the topics available connected with those key words. Has the site been altered so that you get the whole list of topics and not just the one you want?

was it different in the past then, the search didn't work for so long I've forgotten :)

As a work around you can use google to search within a certain section by going to http://www.google.co.uk and then entering the following (in this example I'm searching for your username and only in quizzes and puzzles)

Explorer-8 site:http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Quizzes-a
nd-Puzzles

which would give the following results

http://www.google.co....qi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
. . . But you can save yourself some typing!

The 'http://www.' bit in Chuck's answer isn't needed.

Just
Explorer-8 site:theanswerbank.co.uk/Quizzes-and-Puzzles
is all that is needed.

In practice though,
Explorer-8 site:theanswerbank.co.uk
would normally be good enough.

It's habit Chris, got so used to putting the http in front of addresses here so they become links I don't even think about it :)

However, just putting theanswerbank.co.uk without the section would search the entire site, which is what Expoloer didn't want to do (and can be done using the search at the top of the page)
I take your point, Chuck. I was simply assuming that Explorer-8 would probably be using a search term such as 'Telegraph 2567' which would then only find answers in Q&P even though the whole site was searched.

I was clicking on "quizzes and puzzles" which is one of the list of topics on answerbank on the left hand side of the page. Next, I would type in something like "green mineral" in the long box at the top. The default setting is "site" rather than "web" which is what I want, so I would then click on "seach". I used to use this to find out whether anybody else had discovered the same difficult answer to a crossword clue. The system must have been changed because now we get every topic that there is instead of just the "quizzes" answers.
