Last one. The clue is just 'Underdog' and I have L+N+S+O+ which only makes LONGSTOP or LONGSHOT -what does that have to do with underdog? thanks in advance

Longshot
Sorry if it's wrong. It's only a guess. I don't get the YOU mag. An underdog in a race is a longshot I thought. Again, apologies if I'm wrong.
I would go with Longshot ( ie a horse not fancied to win a race so it would be an underdog?)

Of course! thanks
You're welcome. Good luck
longshot - at least its definition is similar to underdog, whereas long stop is just a fielder's position in cricket, not related to underdog in any way.
