How come the Lord Lieutenant who was at the trafalgar day parade had a sword that looked as if the end had been chopped off? It was completely flat. Google didn't turn anything useful up

It was a fake sword.
Question Author
Sword I meant of course, i'm trying to do lots of things at once.
Question Author
But why have the end like that? why not a normal sword that's blunt, that's what the officers at cadets have, but you could still do damage with them.

Why was his sword out of its scabbard that people could see it?
Question Author
I dunno, that's a good question. To start with I thought that was the shape of the scabbard but when he came round and inspected us, I could see that it was definatly his sword.
