One of the more commoner replies to posters on Body and Soul concerning medical topics is " why come onto AB for answers to your health questions, go to your GP, he is the expert".......Good advce.

This morning I was entertained by an 80 response thread concerning a woman who had been to her GP for a bad back and she was prescribed, quite rightly, Valium.
So what did she do? She came straight back to AB for advice and clarification.

So what do you want from Body and Soul?

I think Sqad sometimes people don't like to "bother" the GP by questioning their decision and in the case of Valium (didn't see the thread) this lady might have not known that it is a valid treatment for chronic back pain and thought that the doc thought it was "all in her head"
sooo it might have been comforting for her to be told on here that the prescription wa correct, it might also have helped her to hear from folk who have had valium prescribed in this way and found it helpful....and I bet good old GP didn't talk to her about rashes or photosensitivity........
I think it's ok as it is. Most people, I presume, are looking for advice. Not for AB users to diagnose.
Not all GPs have your smoothing soothing bedside manner sqad. Maybe the lady just wanted to hear (read/imagine) your dulcet tones of reassurance. (And probably an offer of a massage if she can get herself round to your gaff.......)

I've got a pain in my upper arm. if it's okay to get that diagnosed by someone who's not seen it.. go for it, lol!
if you're on a computer and it's your mouse arm, that's the problem, your sitting wrong.
