I've been working on this quiz for a week and now I'm stumped. Please can anyone help. Hidden in these clues is a placename in England. All the placenames contain a farm term.

6 I've been thinking of a place ending with thorpe. where does "ban line" come into the answer or am I missing something?

Leyland? can fit in eland for animal l for line but left with y. I'll think about it tomorrow.

Thankyou quinie you've been really helpful. Although Thorpe-in-Balne is a perfect answer for the clue I'm not sure that it contains a farming term.

I don't think the answer for no. 2 is "Wells" somehow, not sure. Have to have another think about that one.
