Got a brooch and a pair of drop earrings that are paste probably, but the stones are so sparkely what did they use to achieve this???

Much Victorian & Edwardian Paste jewellery had a meatallic foil set behind the (often) crystal stones.
The foil reflected the light thus making the stones appear bigger and brighter than they actually were.
mr knows queen victoria was his grandaughter !!!!
