m o s . I Must admit I use the Answer bank Every week for the Express as well,I don't have anyone to share with Anoakender
I use answerbank whenever I get stumped for answer.
I do as much I can myself then use Answerbank and another site for help if needed, cannot see the point in doing a quiz if go on right from the start, it takes the fun out of doing them.
Not with friends and not by myself but with my wife which if this category was included in the vote would get a high percentage
My husband and I enjoy doing crosswords-we think we are keeping our brains working. If we cannot get the answers from our encyclopedias we use answer bank-everybody is very helpful -thankyou all.
Dunwerkin's Saturday afternoon ritual is virtually identical to mine, even down to the TV programmes my friend and I watch. The only difference is that we are very competitive over our shared copy of the Saturday Telegraph Cryptic, each trying to get the answer before the other... But for all the other crosswords I do, especially the specialist ones like The Spectator and Enigmatic Variations it is definitely a solitary activity with just the occasional bit of encouragement and the even more occasional clue from appropriate threads on AB to keep me going.
I share the crosswords with my wife, we do them together.
When I was helping a friend recover from the loss of her husband I would go round with my Telegraph and we would work at the crosswords together.
My partner and I do the crosswords together and then use Google or One Look Dictionary Search for the tricky ones. If that we fails we always find the answer from the brainies on AB!
I haven't voted either. My family all chip in. We never ask on AB. Googling and books are much more fun. There's no satisfaction to be got from cheating.
Quizmail was a team effort but we all know what happened to that!!
Hi Tallulah. What happened to Quizmail?

Sorry for the lack of answer C - we thought it would look smug to have a "I use AnswerBank" option!

I am surprised by this poll myself actually - I thought more would have been working with others in some respect.

All the best

Be no good me asking my husband for a crossword answer ..he wouldn't have a clue !
He thinks I'm quite mad especially with convoluted cryptic stuff .Though he's very complimentary when I have a win ,especially if it's cash !
It's a solitary pursuit for me .I soldier along on my own ,ask the very occasional question on here ,but I have to be totally clueless and brain dead to do so . My favourites are cryptics and if I'm really stuck I know I can rely on a friend who is a cryptic crossword genius :)
I usually complete them with my husband, both GK and Cryptic. I like the GK best and Hubby likes the Cryptic. But we find that it is helpful to complete them together as we can discus the clues and so get different angles or ways of intepreting them. Much more fun than doing them on your own.

sprinter53: Your comment is typical of a couple of others who use AnswerBank as aplatform to decry people who use this site as a sorce of finding answers to questions. Do you not realise that the purpose of the site is just that? It's an AnswerBank for goodness sake!

It is grossly unfair that you should label someone a lazy so and so. Interestingly, you suggest Google is a good source for answers. Well, invariably when you ask Google, it directs you to AnswerBank.

Maybe you should 'sprint' along and Google the word Testiculating ie someone who waves his arms about and talks b0llocks
Dear lilsecret

I hope you dont mind but I'm pinching your Testiculating and it's definition. No doubt I will have cause to use it on numerous occasions

ps Thank you for making me LOL xxx

Ed - are you here?

What's your slant on sprinter53's comment? ^^^^^^
lilsecret, This site may be called the AnswerBank but does anyone use the search facility to see if a question's already been asked? I think not. I notice Lovatts puzzles being asked ad nauseam by the same five or so names.
mazie, The proprieters of Quizmail(not a charity) called it a day because it wasn't worth the effort of finding tricky questions. So many people cheated on AB that the prize money in each of the dozen or so leagues was shared out so winners received less than they paid to enter. £14 a month in my case.
What about the ABers who ask where madsteve and donsaround are? You can't convince me that they don't want to copy the whole grid.
