A gobbit is a piece of meat - in one dictionary it says raw but in another it says cooked! Don,t know whether this helps at all.

Thanks Strathspey - I found the meat reference, and leads to gobbets of all sorts of other things too, including a 'gobbet' which is, believe it or not, part of a University exam paper! Nothing with the suffix 'royal' though. It's only a Church quiz, I think I'll admit defeat. Thanks for trying...-G-
