Good Morning All

Having done the crosswords this morning and posted the answers to my fotothing.com web page, on checking to see the replies I had to my original post (plus looking back at the first week), I have come to a decision.

I did this to this to help other people who use this site, however it appears that my efforts by certain people are not appreciated, and all they can do is ridicule and decry my efforts (not you merciasounds).

I will leave the solutions for this week on my web page (for decent users) until 18:00 this evening and then will remove them for good.

I apologise to all decent users of this site but think juvenile behaviour is something I do not wish to be associated with.

To all those who have passed on their words of support and help - thank you for these.

Regards
Steve

Thanks for supplying the answers , I for one have appreciated them to check my answers . Will appeal to you to ignore the people that find fault with what you do for this site. Please continue.

Steve I think your idea was worth a try and I can tell you did it with a good heart. I also think the slight problem with showing completed grids is that if you need a couple of tough ones to get you started, then the whole puzzle is there it can slightly spoil it.

But watch this space in a week or two people may be asking ` Wheres madsteve when you need him¬, it was a nice thought.

Mamya
Don't worry about the moaners, there are probably lots more people who find your post useful.
I don't actually do the Mail on Sunday - I am a Telegraph man myself and I find answerbank very helpful as do lots of readers.
Your efforts are appreciated by most - for those who don't want to know the results can just ignore your posts.
Like TV if you don't like the programme then switch it off or change channels.
Good luck Steve
I agree 100% with bridgenut.

I applaud your efforts and hope you will ignore the silly people who made
derogatory remarks.

You provide a very welcome service and solvers don't have to look at your site if they choose not to.

I really hope you will be back next week - don't give up!
Steve, I would carry on with what you are doing and dont react to the critics. I was saddened to see that you were pilloried for your spelling. Personally I dont see the difference with giving away one or two answers or the whole lot. This is an answerbank after all. There are people who cannot be bothered to even give the clue and to have a link to a solution like this will be ideal for them. Live and let live I say.
Hi Steve,
Im sorry that you are deciding not to put the answers up again every sunday, Ita a shame that a few people out there disagree with this, I like so many others just dont have the time on a sunday to do the crossword correctly, Kids, Work, Chores, Television Catch up on Sky Planner.
I would hope you will reconsider this as this really helps me on a sunday.
I personnally would like for you to email directly with the answers every sunday
details are [email protected]
many thanks
Hi Steve Thank you for your help I for and many others find it useful to check our answers before sending. As to the person who pulled you up on the spelling - people in glass houses shouldn't throw strones or are they professing to be perfect - no-one is perfect no matter who they think they are. As many people have said it will be ashame if you let the minority get to you, difficult to read the comments from the insensitive but please we4ather the initial storm. I as a shift worker really do appreciate the help in the wee small hours of the morning. What is Answer Bank for if not to help with ANSWERS. Thanks again and I hope you will reconsider your decision - hope my spelling is right - that also is another help when I check my answers with yours. All the best.
Hi Steve,
It doesn't matter what you do, you're not going to keep everyone happy. Some people were put on this earth to make things difficult for others, so I would say just ignore them. There are plenty of us out here who appreciate your efforts and would like you to reconsider. I always do the Mail Prize Crossword, and the You mag (never bother with Lancelot, dunno why), and it's great to have someone else's effort to compare mine with. It always makes me feel a bit more confident about sending them in, if I see someone else has put the same as me! I've never won anything, mind you, but I keep having a go. Don't stop, Steve.

BJ
Hi Steve

I don't get the Mail on Sunday but use a similar site to check answers for the Express crosswords, especially the skeleton. I'm sure your efforts are appreciated by many, as you say, 'decent answerbankers' and urge you to re-consider and continue to help others. Just ignore those that chose to denigrate people who use this site for it's intended purpose.
Hi Steve - I don't see the problem with your contribution - it's YOUR choice to proffer answers in any manner you like!

I get more than enough stick from various dogs-in-their-mangers about how much time I choose to spend here on a Sunday, but it is MY choice to do it - I enjoy the interaction with other AB'ers.

Q'ers will either click on a thread or not & use that person again for answers or not - THEIR choice.

Carry on as you will - "Water off a duck's back" & all that! :-)
Steve

They need not look at the site!!

Some people thrive on moaning about others.

Dont be out off.
Mean't put off
Looks to me like the "Ayes" have it in favour of you carrying on Steve.
Definately carry on!!!!! Don't give up and let those bully's win!!!! If they dont want to see the answers they dont need to look!!!!!

You do a fantastic job and I for one will miss you greatly if you do go.
i have found your help very usefull,as today, needed a nudge, knowing you or li in king are there to help is reassuring,as has been said, people need not look.there are worse things than being helpfull.many thanks & hope that you'll stay!!

Hello Answerbanks

Since late this afternoon I have been deliberating on my decision with regards to removing my answers from public view.

I have always been a person who has done my upmost to help others, but have on many occasions had to deal with harsh criticism.

I know that posting my answers like this has upset a lot of people and some may even feel threatened by my actions, but one posting in particular has made me realise that my efforts are appreciated and that posting is by Lie-in-King who I have always respected, therefore I will keep up my efforts and continue to post.

Many, many thanks for your support
Steve
Good for you its your choice and others have the choice to view or not, Good Luck

Mamya ♥
Shall we see what the PuzzleMeister has to say? The decent users like to find their own answers.
Keep up the good work please. Your answers are always there for me to check mine against before I post. Thanks.
