MM Links Solutions September 2009 [Week 2]

We are now into the second week in the reign of Lady Jill (aka tearinghair) and the launch went well ~ although some entrants reported problems with the new-look AnswerBank. I can report that fewer points were scored during this round, although the harvest was quite healthy. The predictions you were looking for were ~ under the theme of

It proved a week of “Catch Up” since both of last week’s leaders were off target!

This week it was TOWN CRIER which brought in the points. First spotted by centrino and tailed by Dustybun and Christiana; they all scored TWO POINTS. Another early hit was registered by x-ray for TRAVEL SICKNESS and another TWO POINTS were claimed.

Now with two hits activated, at 09.03 lysander struck with BOTH Link words and claimed a magnificent FOUR POINTS to provide the highlight of the round and claim the accolade of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

There came a 5-minute lull during which our good friend rogerr made a reappearance after a short absence from MM Linking, before LaneyB hit on ANCIENT HISTORY for yet another TWO POINTS. The last Link went to Entrant #20 ~namely the irrepressible wickedtongue ~ with COUNTRY COUSIN.

Among the five entrants scoring a single point, I must congratulate gen2 and jobjockey who managed to find Two Hits (but sadly for only Two Points each).

The League Table after this second week is starting to look somewhat congested.

With five entrants “neck and neck” at this halfway point, perhaps Week 3 will shake up the field a little and a potential winner will pull away from the pack. Once the ex-champions are eliminated from the League Table (above), there are some interesting names left!
