This is last tuesday's crossword. I just don't understand some of the clues, and was hoping someone may explain them to me.

1 Down File a nail with end of file (6) ABRADE
10 Across It's hard when things are tough! (6) CHEESE
14 Across Shoulder or stomach (4) BEAR
7 down Drug's fixed (8) SPECIFIC
18 down Roundabout start with learner on roundabout (8) CAROUSEL
