Morning all,

I would like to annouce that there will be an official Editors Q&A conducted in: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Suggestions at Four o'clock this afternoon.

You will have an hour to discuss burning issues regarding AnswerBank.

So if you have any issues, ideas and sparks for debate these should be aimed squarely at the thread which will open at 4.00

Thanks Everyone!

I won't be in at 4pm but my question is the same one I ask everytime!

Why doesn't the search facility work?

Two or three years ago. when it operated properly, the duplicated questions were virtually nil - while now!!

don't get me going.
What is the point of a "debate". Suggestions sent directly to you are ignored. I have asked several times that on the crosswords question page that it should say you need to put full clue or clues, number of letters and any that you have. I have even been told it will be done and nothing happens.
I will not be in either at 4pm, but I think my request reiterates Kayakaminas. Please allow us to go back beyond 10 pages to see if my question has already been answered, which will prevent the same question being asked over and over again, and taking up valuable space to ask a new question. Also the speed of the answerbank site is still pitifully slow, especially at busy times, and timing out when posting a question is a constant problem.
I will also be elsewhere this afternoon, but would like to reiterate a problem that has become something of an "old chestnut".

More often than not there is a problem accessing my profile, when wishing to look back on previously answered posts etc. To be told that you have been "timed out," on so many occasions, is to say the least frustrating! (S) :O(
Sarumite, I second that!
Could I also ask that people who have only joined this site to berate or complain that people are asking questions, be removed please?
I'm just passing through & doubt that I can make it at 4, but I'd like to add my backing to all the points made by the above AB'ers - especially squarebear's.

I'll take this chance to mention that my email regarding the "pop-up" adverts that intermittently appear when clicking on a thread wasn't answered (or even acknowledged), nor was the one requesting that a sensible & legible font be integrated into the long-awaited "AB2"...

Whilst my attendance here is currently - & unfortunately (for me, at least) - pretty much limited to the weekends, I & so many other AB'ers enjoy the time we do spend here & it's a shame that what should be easily solved trifling matters spoil the experience.

I look forward with barely-disguised anticipation to viewing the "Suggestions" thread at my earliest opportunity...

Hoping all are well, 'til later -

L-i K :-)
I don't understand squarebear's post........
Squarebear wants people like me who don't like ABers cheating on the hard quizzes/crosswords,removed.
Yesterday someone asked for answers to a Colossus Puzzle on the day the magazine went on sale, GFQ is ruined too by blatant cheating. I know that others quizzes have ceased to exist because of AB, and there will be more. They'll be nothing left for the ABers like squarebear to answer!
I do enjoy the other sections though.
I'll be on the beach at 4. What a silly time to choose.
and this:

It's the same few people every time that try to spoil the site.
oh dear.......it gets a bit 'lively' in Q&P doesn't it....
i think squarebear is getting rattled !
My suggestion would be to close down the Quizzes and Puzzles Section and Chatterbank which seems to be full of 'ABusers'.
There I've said it. Now off I go.
Not rattled at all. The Ed was after our suggestions and that is mine. I quoted those two questions as explanation for craft1948.
I would suggest that all non-charity quizsetters request that no questions be posted on this site (or others) and for their wishes to be actually respected.

I would also suggest that no questions from ANY quiz be posted more than a month from the closing date.

A third suggestion would be that the quiz which is the origin of the question be named in any post so that everyone is aware of its source (thus avoiding the misguided/devious "local quiz" posters)

I have many more suggestions but I am rarely rude in public - I only express my opinions politely.
