Thank you for answering so quickly, pbeach and smouse.

Hi Smouse ! I considered 2 as concerning Grace Kelly being chosen, but then not appearing in the film "Marnie", but could not "tie in" the date - 12-03 - that is, if it IS a date! Your mention of a space connection now has me intrigued.
For 37, I am going for the film "The Graduate", which is set in California i.e. Pasadena.I think that 21 is "Twiggy"and for 48 I have gone for the 1969 Top-10 Hit "I'll pick a rose for my rose". Finally, I think that 34 means the first song ever played on "TOTP" and I believe that was "I Wanna Be Your Man" by the Rolling Stones, in 1964, now the Strolling Bones !!!!!!!
Good luck !
one day I'll write down why now having to double check so will be back and then work on your clues - thanks
33. I think could be - Billy Jean King

I'm still puzzling over the others and a couple of others including 20. Any clues on that one??
Just read the full article on TW3 on wiki
Valentina Tereshkova
I now have no idea why and spent ages trying to fathom it so its probably wrong !
Thanks smouse I got it now - I looked at Valentina Tereshkova and can't tie her in at all.
well I shall leave her in lol I dont have a ?? at the side so must have liked it at the time
Question Author
Thanks for the further advice above.

Jimjools - Smouse's "Wiki" advice leads to the programme host's identity,. He is the man with the icy surname !
My lady also thinks that 33 is Billie Jean King (or Moffit, as she was then).
Thanks Keyboardix - I did find that. As for Valetina - I found this -

Astronaut Group: Female Group - 1962. Inactive Entered space service: '12 March 1962'. Left space service: 30 April 1997. Number of Flights: 1.00. Total Time: 2.95 days.

I don't know if it's relevent but it sort of fits. What do you think?? :-//

Well I feel better lol
and she also should have flown and then didnt and they chose a man instead
I am probably way off the mark but with so many other gaps I am not looking for anything else for that one at the moment
