has twice now tried to jump onto the fire. It's an enclosed wood/coal burner.

Shall I let her if I see her try to do it again?

She will, of course, jump off straight away but she might burn her pads.

She's in front of the fire now, toasting her eyeballs. Lol.

She needs loads of attention and cuddles from you MWB.
Jumping onto fires is not an option otherwise it will be a trip to the VET. She needs another distraction so give her things to play with and make a fuss of her.
You don't want the RSPCA knocking on your door !!

She gets cuddled heaps & I fuss over, redman don't you worry. lol

She has her favourite toys, (a scrunched up bit of paper, a plastic shopping bag & a little foam ball.)

I guess she's just being inquisitive - but at her own peril.

MWB. Your kitten is only a baby, so you could treat her like one and get a children's fireguard to keep her away from the fire until she realises that it's too hot to jump on to. Or keep her out of the room when you are not in it, until you come up with a solution. Good luck. Schutz.
When our Milly was a kitten, she used to climb up the chimney & it was quite difficult to get her down again. Out came the black fire guard from the garage - problem solved! Hope yours is soon too!
