Did anyone see this quiz tonight on BBC2?

One of the questions was "What is the chemical symbol for Halon?". The answer was NaCl.

Surely that is salt rather than Halon which is CBrF3?

I don't think I misheard because the contestant guessed at HL.

Halon is a general term for a group of fire suppressant gases, so there is no single chemical symbol.

You must have misheard.
