A bit early in the day, I know, but for any night owls around, if you have the shaded links from this morning's Herculis, I'd be very happy to have them...........S

seekerz, they're all being jolly lazy this morning, aren't they.
I've been watching for over 45 minutes and no sign of the first-off-the-blocks usuals!

thanks one and all, have a good day, Jools, I'm off to add up.
Morning Seekerz. To answer your question re. Laydown misere - my parents used to play solo whist and they called it misere ouvert!
Regarding how you get the accent - misre - the only way I know is to put the letter into 'Word', from the 'symbol' menu and cut and paste. I'm sure there must be an easier way, but as I don't know it I don't usually bother.

How's the weather with you, now?
And I got the accent the wrong way round!
And BTW Steff - it's a grave accent not an acute.

Hi Christiana I wasn't sure if the term was well known in the UK, here we tend to use it if something is a certainty, but I think Strix was being pessimistic.

I've got an accent on my keyboard and have used it but now can't remember how - too hard basket for that.

We're in for a couple of hot days at the end of the week and then a cooler change, but no rain and jjust keeping fingers crossed that the conditions aren't too severe in Victoria - they're still trying to keep several fires under control.

Now I better get busy and post the results...cheers, Steff

oh, thanks for that, Prescott my French is trash, anyway.
Thanks seekeerz, nil for me.
Sorry about your bet- I went AWOL ( for a swim).

Acute acent on an "e" is Alt plus 0233, and a grave accent is Alt plus 0232.
Thease are a few links..☺

Sorry about the delay folks, some friends dropped by and consequently I'm running just a bit late.

There was a tiny log jam with three of the matches going in the first two posts - Strix collecting points for Deer Hound and Emerald Isle, then cliffyg also with Emerald Isle and Flower Power as well.

beejay1124 rounded out the race for bonus points with Whip Lash plus 2 extra points for 2 good guesses.

The good guess dept was quite busy with Laney B, chriss, teacher1 & cheshunt all collecting three points.
Ten entries picked up two points and a further 16 entries all added a point to their tally.

The Leader Board

cliffyg 10 points

beejay1124 9 points

seekeerz 8 points

chriss 7 points

Laney B 6 points

and on 5 points each - Christiana, crofter, Grenmus,
wickedtongue, Aquagility & teacher1

And we're coming up to the last weekend, so Congratulations all round, have a good week and meet me here next Saturday, ready for the fun.

Now, there's a glass of wine with my name on it waiting so I'm outa here......................S

oh, ps - Dusty you asked why my posts were in a different position - umm, force of habit, from typing letters etc - just one of those weird things and sorry if I made you out to be a dragon, you fluffy little thing, you. xx

I'm on an Apple computer and the keyboard shortcuts may be different on an IBM PC compatible machine (i.e. WIndows) but this is how I "get" accents.

for acute press the alt key and then the letter e twice swiftly; for grave press the alt key and then fairly swiftly the grave accent and then the letter e.

On a Windows machine I think you will use the Ctrl key rather than Alt.

You can experiment with the alt key and various other letters to get the various accented letters for example press alt and then u and then o and see what you get!
