Maybe some clever clogs will come along to explain!
I wasn't too keen on 20d - perhaps it's a reference to the hunter-case pocket watches - a pity because the was an angram of THE RUN just waiting to be used.

As previously mentioned, the ST cryptic is a frustrating puzzle - the answers are seldom difficult, but the wordplay is often obtuse.

Can anyone say why 12 across:
Show a delight in capturing (6)
has any merit?

I do know the answer, it's just the wordplay.

... there was an anagram ...

Hi BigDave I took it as revel delight with a = reveal show
ReveAl Show - reveal , a delight - revel (in)
Thanks - I must be having a bad day!!

Like the hunter watch bit ,any thoughts for anon?
I took it as AN(d) ON, but I'm open to better suggestions.

I've got to write this one up for my blog by next Thursday, and I'm not sure I'll have worked it all out by then!!
21d. anon is, I think, tips (i.e. outside letters of) AgaiN followed by on (over).

Brilliant well done sedge I will go with that one!Julie
It's better than mine, sedge. Once again, how are you supposed to work that out without knowing the answer.

I asked someone if they would do the ST reviews for the blog, and I quote fom his reply "if the Sunday setter is still N**** W***** I'd probably better not comment - her style winds me up considerably"
