The only thing that's occurring to me here is characters on the cover of 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. There are only two Beatles left alive - Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) and (James) Paul McCartney.

If it is Sgt P then the female still alive would be Shirley (Temple) I reckon.

Wow! Thank you for all that imput. I'll research that further.
thorstaffie. The people helping you probably dont know that this quiz costs 12 to enter and not only is the prize 150 but it has a league table. Whilst the setters want as many as possible to enter they do not want answers published. It not only makes a mockery of the league but its unfair on people like Daifawkes who work extremely hard to top this league. I enter and what I cannot do I send in my form with blanks rather than ruin it for everyone else. Its hard yes but its supposed to be thats the point of having a league table so each person goes on according to their score. Most of us struggle but enjoy the challenge. The people that do struggle to do this quiz themselves do not want it ruined. If you cant do it then leave a blank or dont submit your entry you dont pay till you enter anyway.

Oddboddy,
I've been quite honest in stating this is a quiz and there are dozen of other money quizzes which are answered in the answer bank. I conclude that people like to look at the questions and answer them if they wish to. LIke the TV there's an on/off button - people needn't answer if they don't want to.
Yes you were honest about the quiz name and you are correct in saying people dont have to answer but I wonder how many were aware that this isnt just a prize quiz but one where the entrants are entered on a league chart. Its a bit unfair on people that do this themselves with no help as they deserve to be at the top and i'm not talking about myself as what I cant do I leave so blanks so I am not one of the ones anywhere near the top and probably never will be but this quiz is specially designed so answers cannot just be googled. Its designed to challenge peoples ability to work things out for themselves and just coming on here asking just isn't what its about. Its not really entering the spirit of it.
Very interesting, Oddboddy. I provided a guess in good faith because this is the kind of question I enjoy most - one where the answers can't just be searched for. I wasn't aware of the nature of the quiz and I fully take your point. I suspect in future I'll avoid questions which are obviously from 'Whatquiz' but I wonder how many people will just seek answers and call it 'local quiz' or whatever. I appreciate, thorstaffie, that you did not do this.
Thanks Chrysaor i'm really glad you understand the point I was making as it is a really hard quiz and the whole thing is about the challenge rather than the prize. I just think that if people cant answer it, its much more in the spirit of it to leave a blank.and I really appreciate your reply. Many thanks
Oddboddy. This is just the sort of carping that used to go on with Quizmail, and got so nasty that many believe it was one of the reasons that the organisers decided to give up. You can never make it a level playing field, some people do the quiz entirely on their own and some teams have 8 or more people in them and converse by telephone, letter and e-mail. Are you going to try top stop them? Just get on with finding the answers in your own way and leave others alone. If you weren't looking for answers

Sorry for partly repeating myself. Finger trouble.
I still think people should have been told its a league quiz to make it fair on people who top the league on their own effort and as its extremely hard deserves to be there. And just to put an end to your musing I use answerbank to check new quizzes and typos to add to my quizsite. I'm sure if you check the last months request for help on this quiz which no I didnt answer, someone else did and you'll see they put it a lot blunter and ruder than I have I just pointed out the whole point of the quiz.
And if you email or phone someone the answers aren't then on here for open viewing as I think has been argued many times by others in other threads.

I think you owe oddbody an appology

She has set up an absolutely brilliant site to advertise new quizzes and give people the chance to see queries and errors and also answers to finished quizzes

I for on have never seen her ask a quesiton on this site

According to what I have read the quizmail quiz has stopped because of questions like this and there was no mention of them being angry towards the ones who were trying to stop answers being given away

I dont do whatquiz but can see what is being said here as obviously this is a different thing altogether to other quizzes that are asked on this site
Words fail me. I just think you are sad peoplewho want to run everyone elses lives. (check your spelling)
and that's not a petty reply at all is it

so never a comma before the word and you needed a space between people and who - grow up

Hello folks,
Sorry to have caused so much contraversy. I do Whatquiz for FUN!! Oddboddy - I would put in any tenuous answer rather than a blank - what is the point of that? As for Leagues and money, I'm not aspiring to be 'top dog' or rich, just contented to answer as many questions correctly as possible. I haven't asked for direct answers , just clues or links which are exciting to follow. If you can't ask questions in the Answerbank what is the point of the site?
I'm with you all the way thorstaffie. I occasionally ask for clues if I am really stuck - we all need a nudge in the right direction every so often. Don't let the others get you down. Good luck with the quiz.
I meant to say in my last post - have you tried posting on http://www.iqagb.co.uk If you use their prize quizzers forum people are happy to pm you with information. Good on a quiz like this because the info is not broadcast to all and sundry.
